Christmas Mix & Match Manicure

Christmas Mix & Match Manicure
I don't think I can express how much I love this Christmas mix and match manicure.. I had this idea in my head and it turned out better than I expected! The ingredients for this lovely combination: a juicy red colour, subtle stamping, a yummy candy cane design and I used Emerald Sparkle from China Glaze for the first time! Gotta love those little pops of green.

Silver

China Glaze Millennium + Konad m59 + silver rhinestones
I don't have the words to express how much I love Millennium from China Glaze. This metallic silver wonder is one of my most used polishes. After applying two coats I stamped a bow from Konad plate m59 with Konad Special Nail Polish in White. Then I added a couple of silver rhinestones from Born Pretty Store. I really like the result, but after a while I lost a couple rhinestones. So I repainted my ring finger nail and added two coats of B.O #71, a silver glitter polish (also from Born Pretty Store). The formula is quite thick and I noticed a lot of bubbles after applying it, this one really needs some thinner. But other than that, nice polish. I think it looks great over Millennium!

Iron Studs

Orly Iron Butterfly + Essence Got a Secret + stud rhinestones
Orly Iron Butterfly + Essence Got a Secret + stud rhinestones
How cool are these steel grey stud rhinestones from BornPrettyStore.com? It's nice to wear something different than clear rhinestones! For this mani I applied two coats of Orly - Iron Butterfly on most nails and Essence - Got a Secret on some accent nails. I wanted a complete matte look so I also applied a matte top coat over Got a Secret. Then I added the stud rhinestones. I recommend applying a layer of top coat to seal the studs or you'll lose them within a couple of hours.

Queen's Day Nails

Essence Andy You're a Star + BM-215
First of all: thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post. I knew you guys would like it as much as I did, lol! Today's Queen's Day, a national holiday in The Netherlands. Our national colour is orange, so orange nails it is! I can't say I'm a fan of orange, but hey.. once a year I can make an exception. :) I'm wearing two coats of Essence - Andy, You're a Star and for the crown I used China Glaze - 2030 and image plate BM-215. I also thought it would be nice to add a rhinestone for some bling.

Pink & Bows

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated eight years together! The perfect occasion to bake my sweet and supportive man a cake. With a bow and tiny hearts. ♥
After I was done decorating the cake I had no energy left to do my nails, so I did them this morning. I applied three coats of Barry M - Bright Pink, a beautiful yummy candy pink (apparently my camera hates photographing pink, Bright Pink looks less blue-toned irl). Then I added one of the bows from image plate M59 with Konad Special Nail Polish in White and a light pink rhinestone. I was thinking about adding little hearts, but I'm glad I didn't.. I like it simple these days. ^_^

Flower Fields Forever

Did I already mention that I'm in love with floral stamping designs? :L For this mani I used a design from Bundle Monster plate BM-224 and Konad Special Polish in White. The base colour is Raspberry Fields Forever from Catrice. Beautiful shade, bright and very raspberry-like. It was easy to apply, this is two coats. As a final touch I added some light pink rhinestones and a layer of top coat.

Thanks for watching and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Catrice - Pool Party At Night & BM-224

Today everything seemed to go wrong. Right after my nails were done a wandering rhinestone managed to stick to the wet layer of top coat and I couldn't get it off without ruining half the nail; of course my camera battery died and it started to rain like crazy. But after redoing the ruined nail, the battery was half charged ánd the sun was shining. Happy end. :)

I'm so glad I fixed that one nail instead of removing everything, 'cause I love how this looks! I applied two coats of Catrice - Pool Party At Night and stamped with Konad Special Polish in White and a pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM-224. I also added a couple of yellow rhinestones and a layer of top coat.

Ladybug Galore

My nails didn't see a lot of nail polish the past days due to me being busy baking a special cake. I'm always afraid the nail polish will fall off suddenly while baking and disappear in the cake *shivers*. So.. as you might have guessed one of the things I love to do, next to polishing zhe nailz, is baking cakes! And to decorate cakes with marzipan and stuff... (and of course eating them afterwards, nom). This weekend I made a ladybug cake for a sweet, sweet girl who turned 1 today, hurray! Not that she'll remember the cake, but hey, at least her parents will (and I still have the pictures ;) ).
When I was done baking and decorating I decided to paint a ladybug on one of my nails. The red I used is Zoya Kristi. What an awesome red! The pictures doesn't show the colour at its best, but I'll make a special post for Kristi soon. I handpainted the black details with Konad Special Polish in Black, because it's so pigmented. It's not the easiest polish to work with, because it's so gloopy, but it worked for now. Then I used two little silver rhinestones for the eyes. And I finished with a nice thick layer of Seche Vite! I actually almost never do nail art like this and I must say: r.e.s.p.e.c.t. for all those girls (and boys!) who can turn nails into beautiful miniature paintings! :b
Do you like to bake? And I'm curious, do you wear polish while baking?
