Blinding Nails

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy + Speciallita Hefesto
It looks like Summer finally started in The Netherlands, woohoo! I decided to celebrate by wearing this blinding layering. I used four coats of China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy (love the colour, hate the formula) and one coat of Hefesto, the prismatic top coat from Speciallità.

You should see this in person... :L

Gussied Up Green On Steroids

China Glaze Gussied Up Green + Speciallita Hera
China Glaze Gussied Up Green + Speciallita Hera
My 'inspiration' for this layering was this mani. Lately I love combining shimmery and prismatic nail polishes. I applied three coats of Gussied Up Green from China Glaze and one coat of Speciallità - Hera. Hera is really pretty on her own, but layered over a dark colour she's magical! :d

Cowgirl Up On Steroids

China Glaze Cowgirl Up + Speciallita Atena
China Glaze Cowgirl Up + Speciallita Atena
Oooh, just look at that! This is one coat of Speciallità - Atena over two coats of China Glaze - Cowgirl Up. A dreamy combination, isn't it? I'm in love. The red-purple glow from Cowgirl Up combined with the amazing prismatic sparkles from Atena.. it's almost too hot to handle! :L

Speciallità - Apolo & Comparison

Well, what can I say..? Anóther stunner from Speciallità! Apolo is a deep, tealish blue coloured polish with a beautiful and strong rainbow effect. Just how I like it, Apolo rocks! The formula was good, I applied two coats, no top coat.
This is how Apolo looks next to Glamour from OPI's Designer Series. Both eyecatchers, but as you can see no dupes!

Coral & Orange: Speciallità - Afrodite & Deméter

Mmm, this pinky coral shade makes my mouth water. Speciallità - Afrodite reminds me of candies, yum! Don't worry, I'm not going to take a bite, but it sure looks delicious. Although the prismatic effect isn't very strong, I think it's still super pretty. An unexpected favourite! The formula was good, I used two coats.
And this is Speciallità - Deméter. An orange I would wear! Too bad my camera freaked out (I hate it when that happens, grr!) and made it look too orange and way too bright. It's actually a soft shade, more like Afrodite, and less yellow-toned than my picture shows. A very unusual nail polish, I like that! Nice formula, two coats.

Just a couple of days left to enter my Speciallità giveaway, don't forget to enter! :)

Pink & Blue: Speciallità Hestia & Poseidon

I hope you're not getting tired of seeing these prismatic polishes from Speciallità. I know I'll never get tired of them, in my opinion every single one is a masterpiece. Aren't these two soft shades stunning? A light pink and a light blue.. the Hits No Olimpo collection is really complete, so much fun colours! Hestia, the lilacy pink one, is a sweet and lovely shade and applies easily (three coats).
Poseidon has a knock-your-socks-off prismatic effect, the most intense of all the Hits no Olimpo polishes. This is also three easy coats.

These two beautiful shades plus eleven other nail polishes named after Olympian gods and goddesses are part of my giveaway prize, don't forget to enter!

Thanks for watching! :h

Speciallità - Dionísio & Comparison

Hmm.. or could this be my favourite? ♥ Meet Dionísio, the purple prismatic polish from Speciallità. As you can see it's incredibly gorgeous, I love it! The formula was good. It is a bit on the sheer side, this is three coats (no top coat).
China Glaze - LOL, a england - Lady of the Lake, Teeez - Outta Control 01, Speciallità - Dionísio & Color Club - Wild at Heart
I made a comparison on a nail wheel with a couple of purple nail polishes with prismatic particles. Dionísio is the sheerest of these five, but the intense prismatic effect absolutely makes up for it! I can stare at these pretties all day... You can never have enough purple prismatics, can you?

Dionísio is part of my giveaway prize, don't forget to enter! ^_^

Speciallità - Atena

This one's probably my favourite from Speciallità's Hits No Olimpo collection. I adore this beautiful dark magenta coloured polish. As you can see the prismatic effect is insane, it's hard to look away. This polish reminds me very much of one of my long time lemmings, OPI DS - Exclusive. So yes, I'm super excited about Atena! :L The formula was nice. I used three coats, no top coat.

In case you've missed it, Atena's part of my giveaway prize! Click →here← if you want to enter.

Thanks for watching and have a nice weekend!

Precious, Precious, Silver and Gold

Today I'm showing you the silver and gold polish from Speciallità's Hits No Olimpo collection. The silver one's called Artemis. Artemis has a metallic finish and is filled with fine prismatic particles. The prismatic effect is amazing! I'm probably saying that about all the Hits No Olimpo polishes. ;)
The gold one's called Hermes. This one also has a metallic finish and a gorgeous prismatic effect. I wish the sun wasn't so shy today so I could show you how awesome the prismatic effect of these really is. Maybe another time! I rarely wear silver or gold nail polish, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked these two on me. It looks like Artemis and Hermes totally won me over.

edit: Ahh, this looks more like it. Look at those sparklies! Thank you, sun. ^_^
The formula was good, two easy coats for both, no top coat.

Thanks for watching!

Happy New Year!

Can you believe we're living the last day of 2011? Time flies! On my nails something festive of course. This is by far my favourite sponged mani. In real life it's much sparklier than the pictures show, totally awesome! Yesterday I posted my ten favourite manis of 2011, but I must add this mani to the list.. so a top 11 for 2011 it is, how convenient, lol. I applied two coats of Kelly from Zoya. Then I sponged half of the nail with Speciallità - Hefesto, an amazing prismatic top coat. For some extra bling I also added Blair from Essence on the tips.

Have a wonderful day/evening/night! I hope 2012 will be an amazing year for you all. :h

Camelot & Ares

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I did! The church service was nice, the food was yummy and spending time with my loved ones is always great. ♥ I was happy with Ares on my nails, but after a day I wanted something else. Something darker. So I applied one coat of a england - Camelot and one coat of Speciallità - Ares. The result: dark maroon coloured nails with a smashing prismatic effect. Like!

Thanks for watching!

Speciallità - Ares

It's a little obvious to wear red for Christmas, but I just lóve red. I decided to wear Speciallità's Ares, a coral leaning red prismatic polish. Isn't it pretty? I think it's perfect! Applying Ares was super easy, two coats were enough for an opaque result.

That's it for today... I wish you all a merry, merry Christmas! :h May God bless you!

Thanks for watching!

Speciallità - Hera

Another stunner from Speciallità's Hits No Olimpo collection: Hera. This nail polish has a bright teal coloured base with fine prismatic particles. The prismatic effect is insane, I wish I could have captured all its beauty on a photograph. I'm madly in love with this one, seriously.. could it get better than this? ♥ The formula was nice, no application issues with Hera (although the gigantic flat brush surprised me a little). I used two coats, no top coat.
The Hits No Olimpo polishes cost around $4 (for 6 ml) at Speciallità (the webshop is closed for the holidays till the 4th of January). You can also buy them for $10 a bottle at Llarowe. Please note that these nail polishes aren't Big 3 Free, they contain toluene and formaldehyde.

Comparison: Dark Prismatic Shades

I was curious how Speciallità - Zeus would look like next to other dark(er) prismatic polishes I own. So I made a little comparison with Catherine Arley #805 (pinkie nail - two coats), Chainmail Charm from Diamond Cosmetics (middle finger nail - two coats) and three coats of Zeus on the other nails. #805 from Catherine Arley is a true black, it's more pigmented and darker than Zeus. Another difference is the scattered prismatic effect of #805; it looks really different next to the other two. As you can see Chainmail Charm has a somewhat brownish base compared to Zeus' more charcoal base colour. I think Chainmail Charm has a beautiful prismatic effect, but it looks kinda dull next to the intense rainbows Zeus shows. My advice? If you can get your hands on Zeus, well.. get it! ^_^
Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend!

Speciallità - Zeus

When Daniela from the Brazillian nail polish brand Speciallità asked me if I wanted to review the Hits No Olimpo collection, my answer was yes. YES. A collection with thirteen prismatic shades, how could I say no to that? The Hits No Olimpo polishes are all named after Olympian gods and goddesses. Today I'm showing you Zeus, a charcoal polish with fine prismatic particles. It also has a subtle gold flashing shimmer. The prismatic effect is really intense, I couldn't believe my eyes! This is so freakin' awesome. *drools* The fomula was nice, I used three thin coats, no top coat.
The Hits No Olimpo polishes cost around $4 (for 6 ml) at Speciallità. The site's written in Portuguese, but  exploring it isn't so hard due to easy navigation. Please note that these polishes aren't Big 3 Free, they contain toluene and formaldehyde.
