Love Lapis

Today I'm showing you Lapis from Cirque. Blue, glittery and stun-ning! I'm so glad I have a blog where I can share epic nail polishes. Lapis is definitely epic. ♥ It was easy to apply, I'm wearing two coats (on most nails) over two coats of Gosh - Blue Balloon. I added the glittery and silver (China Glaze - Millennium) triangles by using striping tape. As the finishing touch I also added small square studs from Born Pretty Store. I'll be using those studs a lot, love them.

Beetle Inspired Nails

Yes, today's mani is inspired by beetles! First I applied two coats of Orly - Enchanted Forest. I let it dry completely before I added a piece of striping tape in the middle of the nail. Then I carefully brushed two strokes of Ludurana - Admirável on both sides of the nail. I removed the tape, added a layer of top coat and stared at my nails for the rest of the day. ^_^

I also took some underwater shots (learnt this from Goose!). Multichromes look SO good underwater. All those colours. In one polish. I couldn't believe my eyes!

This spectacular multichrome from Ludurana was a gift from Penélope, one of my lovely readers. She sent me an awesome package with Brazilian must-have nail polishes and a great selection of her own handmade glitter polishes. Thanks again dear! You are so generous and sweet. ♥

Quilted Purple

It's time for another cake-inspired-nails post! A so-called quilted cake was on my to-do list for ages and I finally decided my birthday was the perfect occasion to give it a go! The cake is covered with marzipan and the flower on the cake is made of fondant. It took me some practice and I have to say I'm kinda proud of it. ♥

About the nails: the medium purple I used on most nails is China Glaze - Spontaneous. The colour on the accent nail is Grape Pop, another purple beauty from China Glaze (both look less blue-toned in real life). After Grape Pop was completely dry I added a raster of striping tape. To achieve the gradient look I sponged the nail surface with Spontaneous and a england - Guinevere. I removed the tape, added a couple of silver dots and a thick layer of top coat. Aah, so pretty! 

For the flower I used white acrylic paint. Before I added the black heart of the flower and the silver dots I sponged a little bit of Spontaneous in the middle.

Glow In The Dark Nails with CH Nail #12

I've been wanting to try glow in the dark nail polish for ages, so I was really excited when I spotted a series of luminous nail polishes on BornPrettyStore.com. Today I'm showing you #12, a glowy pink. It's quite sheer and the formula is thick and gloopy, so I decided to layer it. This is two coats over a white creme polish, no top coat. I added striping tape and black dots to make the glow in the dark experience even more fun! The glow is clearly visible in the dark, but I have to say that my camera makes my nails look more glowy then they are in real life. Oh well.. I think it's fun! A downside of this polish is the drying time, it took hours to dry.

Striped Chuck

Last week I showed you guys a way to get crisp lines on the nail: with striping tape! Yesterday I wanted to try out another design, because it's fun ánd easy to do. I applied one layer of Millennium from China Glaze on my ring finger nails, placed a couple of pieces of striping tape on top and applied one coat of Essence - Chuck (have I mentioned how amazing that polish is? ♥) on all nails. Then I removed the striping tape from the ring finger nails and applied a topcoat. I really like how it came out, but hey.. in my book you can't go wrong with a blue/silver combination. :)

Bright Stripes

A couple of days ago I received a package from Born Pretty Store. One of the products in this package was metallic black striping tape ($1,73). You can use the striping tape for a metallic accent on the nail, but in this post you'll not see the actual striping tape on my nails. 

I started with three coats of China Glaze - Pool Party, a super bright pink neon. Neons are impossible to photograph, so imagine Pool Party being much brighter and pinker in real life. Then I placed some pieces of the striping tape on my ring finger nail, applied one layer of Romeo from Essence and removed the tape. It's as easy as that, the striping tape is perfect for this. I finished the mani by applying a layer of matte topcoat from Essence. Doesn't it look cool? I think it does! :)
