Sparkly Tips with Cirque - Book of Shadows & Cirque - XX

Sparkly Tips with Cirque Book of Shadows & Cirque XX
Sparkly Tips with Cirque Book of Shadows & Cirque XX
For this mani I used two amazing nail polishes from Cirque's Objet d'Art collection. I spiced up a three day old mani (two coats of Catrice - I Sea You!) with a crazy amount of sparkle on the tips. I sponged with Book of Shadows (silver/lavender foil) and dabbed the glitter from XX on top of it. XX is really impressive, don't you think? I adore the pastel look of the glitter particles. ♥

Rainbow Sprinkled Free Hugs

Essence Free Hugs + JENsations Rainbow Sprinkles
I can't tell you how much I've missed my polished nails and blogging about it! The eczema on my fingers is not entirely gone, but it looks and feels much better. Thanks for all the sweet comments on my previous post. ♥
JENsations Rainbow Sprinkles
Today I'm showing you Rainbow Sprinkles, a super gorgeous glitter topper from JENsations. I love it so much, look how cheery and colourful! For this mani I dabbed the glitter only on the tips. The base colour I'm wearing is Free Hugs from Essence; I had to use three coats to get an even surface. Free Hugs has a deeper pink tone in real life.

Cirque - Dark Horse

Cirque Dark Horse over China Glaze Awaken with top coat
Cirque Dark Horse over China Glaze Awaken
For today's nails I used Dark Horse, a dark and mysterious nail polish from Cirque. At first I thought this polish had a black base with multi-coloured shimmer, but no.. Dark Horse's clear base is filled with small black glitter and rainbow sparkles. How amazing is that? I prefer layering glitter polishes over a non-glitter polish (makes the removal easier), so I used two coats of Dark Horse over China Glaze - Awaken. Dark Horse applies easily and dries gritty and kinda matte (second picture). You'll need at least two layers of top coat for a smooth and glossy finish. Normally I would go for smooth nails, but I'm surprised by how much I like this glittery polish without top coat!

I want to declare my love to Crushed Velvet from Diamond Cosmetics. It's my fav dark purple creme, so smooth and dreamy... I love it to pieces! And with China Glaze - Liquid Crystal sponged on the tips I love it even more. This is such a winning combination, I couldn't stop staring at my nails! The third picture shows the blue-purple colour shift in Liquid Crystal, SO gorgeous. (Keep in mind this mani looks way more purple in person.)
colour shifting shimmer, multi-coloured glitter, ooh and aah! ♥

Copper'ize Me Caught On The Red Carpet

Today I want to show you a super cool new glitter topper from Essence called Copper'ize Me! Its clear base is filled with small copper coloured glitter and medium-sized multi-coloured glitter. I applied one coat over two coats of Catrice - Caught On The Red Carpet. My camera couldn't pick up the right colour, COTRC looks more blue-toned and deeper in real life. But.. I'm posting this to show you how awesome the glitterzz are! I love how the copper glitter peeks through and how it twinkles with the glossy finish. Copper'ize Me! is a stunner, matte ánd glossy!
without matte top coat

Thanks for watching and have a good Easter weekend!

Balloons in the Sky

My husband's words when he saw my nails: "Cool! It looks like balloons flying in the blue sky" (lol, I just love his comments!). I started with applying two coats of Blue Cara Ciao from Catrice - this colour is hard to photograph, it's actually more of a blue-green. After it dried a little, I dabbed different glitter polishes on the base of the nail. I used Essence - Circus Confetti and a bit of Sultry Diva (gold) and Object of Envy (green) from Color Club. A layer of top coat over it and tadaa.. festive nails!

Franken Fun: Confetti Sky

I'm always intrigued by those jelly nail polishes with large multi-coloured glitter floating in them, for example those glitter bombs from Deborah Lippmann. But I find those quite expensive and a bit too glittery, so what to do..? Franken one! The result: Confetti Sky, a blue jelly with multi-coloured and multi-sized glitter. I can't believe how pretty this came out, the amount of glitter is just enough for me and the blue base looks so delish and squishy... And it's ridiculously easy to do! Fun times. :)

Ingredients:
-half a bottle of Essence - Clear As Ice
-half a bottle of Essence - Circus Confetti
-a few drops of Catrice - Blue Cara Ciao

Orly - Androgynie. Let's Get The Holidays Started! ;-)

Today finally feels a bit like summer, I love feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. Ironically I'm wearing a nail polish from Orly's upcoming holiday collection (Holiday Soiree). A couple of days ago I saw that my sweet blogging friend Miranda already got her hands on two nail polishes from this collection, what a nice surprise! Of course I went on a search and I found them in a Dutch webshop, yay! It was hard to choose, but I ended up buying the one I was most excited about: Androgynie. It looked so spectacular in the bottle I wanted to try it on my nails immediately, summer day or not.
Androgynie is a black jelly with large multi-coloured hexagons, finer prismatic glitter and really fine gold flecks. A perfect party polish, it's SO pretty! The formula was good, it applied easily and dries fairly quick. It is a bit on the sheer side, so I used three coats (plus top coat). I have to say I was a bit disappointed by the amount of hexagons showing up on the nail, most of them are sticked to the side of the bottle and difficult to get out. I gave the bottle a real good shake, but apparently it wasn't good enough. :/

Thanks for watching!

p.s. the bottle comes with a tiny lace nail file, how cute is that? Useless, but cute. ♥

Essence: Romeo and Circus Confetti

Yesterday I went to the nearest Kruidvat (a Dutch drugstore) to see if they added the new Catrice and Essence products. And yay, the new shelfs were fi-nal-ly there! The Catrice shelf looked like a tornado had passed though, all the fun stuff was already gone *sigh*. But I got myself some new Essence nail polishes, so I wasn't too sad about it. The first polish I tried out was one half of the Essence Nail Art Twins, Romeo, a grey creme (nice formula, two coats). I guess Essence made a new version of Romeo, because the swatches I find on the web show a silver metallic polish. The other half of the set, Romeo's beloved Julia, was missing, so I decided to cheer him up with one of the new special effect toppers from Essence, Circus Confetti (one coat).

I have to state first that I háte chunky glitter polishes, so buying this one is a true milestone for me.. And I have to say: Love. It. What a fun look, Circus Confetti is really awesome. I can't wait to try it on top of other nail polishes, the possibilities are endless. Imagine how it'll look on a red creme, or a turquoise, an orange one! The only downside is that the clear base is a tad yellowish, so it can change the base colour a little.
