Rainbow Sprinkled Free Hugs

Essence Free Hugs + JENsations Rainbow Sprinkles
I can't tell you how much I've missed my polished nails and blogging about it! The eczema on my fingers is not entirely gone, but it looks and feels much better. Thanks for all the sweet comments on my previous post. ♥
JENsations Rainbow Sprinkles
Today I'm showing you Rainbow Sprinkles, a super gorgeous glitter topper from JENsations. I love it so much, look how cheery and colourful! For this mani I dabbed the glitter only on the tips. The base colour I'm wearing is Free Hugs from Essence; I had to use three coats to get an even surface. Free Hugs has a deeper pink tone in real life.

You can find Rainbow Sprinkles in Jen's Etsy shop for $8,00 (10 ml).

Sweet Gradient Nails & Cake

pink red gradient cake with hearts
This time my nails inspired me to make a cake. I was wearing this pink gradient mani when I decided to make a cake for my husband (last Friday we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!). Well, why not try to make it a gradient cake? It's not an exact match to the nails (I only had red food colouring), but I like it muchos! ^^ For the nails I used three coats of Barry M - Bright Pink and Gamax - Rosa Shocking to make the gradient. Then I added one layer of JENsations - Be My Valentine. A great glitter topper with hot pink and light pink hexes and light pink hearts. I had to fish a little for the hearts, but other than that it's a nice polish to work with.

Cirque French Roast sponged over Zoya Shawn + Konad m83

Shawn Loves French Roast

Cirque French Roast sponged over Zoya Shawn
Oh. Wow. How amazing are these glittery tips? For this mani I sponged French Roast from Cirque over Zoya - Shawn. French Roast is very obviously made of awesome, it's so sparkly and complex. ♥ This week is going to be busy so I don't have much time to do my nails, but looking at this I don't even wánt to change them.

Silver

China Glaze Millennium + Konad m59 + silver rhinestones
I don't have the words to express how much I love Millennium from China Glaze. This metallic silver wonder is one of my most used polishes. After applying two coats I stamped a bow from Konad plate m59 with Konad Special Nail Polish in White. Then I added a couple of silver rhinestones from Born Pretty Store. I really like the result, but after a while I lost a couple rhinestones. So I repainted my ring finger nail and added two coats of B.O #71, a silver glitter polish (also from Born Pretty Store). The formula is quite thick and I noticed a lot of bubbles after applying it, this one really needs some thinner. But other than that, nice polish. I think it looks great over Millennium!

Green Gradient with JENsations - Green With Envy

Green Gradient Nails with Catrice Run Forest Run and China Glaze Holly-Day + JENsations Green With Envy
This is a nice mani for green lovers (like me!). I started with two coats of Catrice - Run Forest Run! (version 2) and I made a subtle gradient with Holly-Day from China Glaze. Then I used one of Jen's franken polish creations, Green With Envy. Jen's description: "Green With Envy is made with a 3-free base and small matte dark & light green hexagon glitter". I wouldn't call the glitter pieces matte, but they're not super reflective either (they remind me of the hexes in OPI - Pirouette My Whistle). The formula has a nice consisteny, not too thin, not too thick. I used two coats plus top coat.

You can find Green With Envy in Jen's Etsy shop. Don't forget to check out her other beautiful creations!

Cirque - Dark Horse

Cirque Dark Horse over China Glaze Awaken with top coat
Cirque Dark Horse over China Glaze Awaken
For today's nails I used Dark Horse, a dark and mysterious nail polish from Cirque. At first I thought this polish had a black base with multi-coloured shimmer, but no.. Dark Horse's clear base is filled with small black glitter and rainbow sparkles. How amazing is that? I prefer layering glitter polishes over a non-glitter polish (makes the removal easier), so I used two coats of Dark Horse over China Glaze - Awaken. Dark Horse applies easily and dries gritty and kinda matte (second picture). You'll need at least two layers of top coat for a smooth and glossy finish. Normally I would go for smooth nails, but I'm surprised by how much I like this glittery polish without top coat!

Fishing for Diamonds

Zoya Kelly with fishnet stamp (BM-310) and BornPrettyStore glitter
Zoya Kelly with fishnet stamp (BM-310) and BornPrettyStore glitter
For today's mani I used these blingy hex glitters from BornPrettyStore.com. They are absolutely stunning, I can stare at them all day! The nail polish I'm wearing is Kelly from Zoya. I stamped the fishnet pattern with Bundle Monster plate BM-310 and China Glaze - Millennium on some accent nails, then I added the hex glitter.

Cirque - Debris

Zoya Caitlin + Cirque Debris
Zoya Caitlin + Cirque Debris
Today I'm showing you a glitter polish from Cirque's Dark Horse collection. It's called Debris and it's awesome. Debris has a clear base with black and silver square and hex glitter and fine prismatic shimmer. I layered Debris over Zoya - Caitlin and I think they make a good pair! Caitlin doesn't look right in the first picture (too blue), but I wanted to show a glimpse of how pretty the prismatic shimmer looks in sunlight. ♥ The formula of Debris is nice, not too thick. The larger glitter parts tend to settle at the bottom, so I turned the bottle upside down before I started with my base colour. Worked like a charm, I had no trouble getting the larger ones out. This is one coat.

Sparkly Tips with Cirque - Ophelia

Sparkly Tips with Cirque Ophelia
Sparkly Tips with Cirque Ophelia
A smooth base and glittery tips.. this is my favourite way to wear glitter polishes, I love the contrast! For today's mani I applied two coats of Essence - Chuck (looks more blurple than blue in real life) and I sponged the tips with Ophelia from Cirque. Ophelia is such a lovely glitter polish, it has a clear base with periwinkle coloured hex glitter and pink and green shimmer. You'll need at least four coats if you want to wear it on its own so I recommend layering it over an opaque base. In the picture below you can see how one coat of Ophelia looks over a black and a blurple creme polish.
Cirque Ophelia - one coat over black and blurple
Ophelia is part of Cirque's Dark Horse collection. This handmade collection is available on the Cirque website and locally in New York at Annie's stand at Hester Street Fair. Prices range from $12 to $16 (13.2 ml).

Neon Orange Glitter Fest

Color Club You Got Soul-Ar + OPI Pirouette My Whistle
Color Club You Got Soul-Ar + OPI Pirouette My Whistle
Is that bright or what? 8) Neon nail polish can be very unflattering on me (that doesn't stop me from wearing it, neons are just too much fun!), but the polish I'm showing you today actually IS flattering. This neon orangey colour is You Got Soul-Ar from Color Club. I hoped my orange nails would help our football team win the second match of Euro 2012 last Wednesday, but no.. we lost again, grr! Later I added one coat of OPI - Pirouette My Whistle (love it). I think it looks great with the non-sparkly light glitter from You Got Soul-Ar!

Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend!

Syrup Glitter Nails

Nfu Oh JS17 + OPI Pirouette My Whistle
After I saw a couple of Nfu Oh's Jelly Syrup nail polishes on Jeanette's beautiful nails I couldn't resist and ordered two, JS17 and JS30. Today I'm showing you JS17, a happy green jelly. I was in the mood for some glitter, so I also used OPI - Pirouette My Whistle. The layering order was JS17-JS17-glitter-JS17-glitter-JS17-glitter. Applying JS17 was easy, no streaking or bubbling at all. I was afraid it would take forever to dry, but the drying time was surprisingly quick for 7 (!) coats. Ahh, I'm in love with my syrup glitter mani. ♥

B.O #63 Crystal Purple Pink

B.O 63 BornPrettyStore
Recently I received a glitter polish from BornPrettyStore.com. It's #63 from the brand B.O (you can find it here). This polish has a clear base with multiple sized hexagonal glitter pieces. The hexes are duo chromatic, they look mostly fuchsia but shift to a blueish purple when viewed at a different angle... super gorgeous!
China Glaze Flying Dragon + B.O 63
China Glaze Flying Dragon + B.O 63
#63 has a thick formula, it took me some effort to get a nice amount of glitter on the nail and to get those pretty big ones out. I layered one coat of #63 over Flying Dragon from China Glaze. Flying Dragon is a red-leaning purple neon with tiny blue and pink glitter. It was hard to photograph, I colour corrected the third picture to show you how it looks in real life. The B.O glitter combines really well with Flying Dragon, I like it a lot!

BornPrettyStore.com kindly offers a 10% off code for my lovely readers! :D The code is B10X31.

Forgotten Treasure

Essence It's Two Bright + Etos Effect Nails 008
A couple of days ago I was cleaning out my closet and found a box with old nail polishes. A bunch of sheer pinks and thickened frosts, but also this impressive little glitter polish (Effect Nails #008) from Etos (Dutch drugstore). The sheer blue base is filled with small and medium-sized prismatic hexes. SO pretty. For this mani I layered one coat over two coats of the blue side of Essence's Colour³ nail polish called It's Two Bright. I had a hard time capturing the glittery awesomesauce on the nail, but the bottle shot does show how beautiful the glitter looks in real life!

Liquid Crystal Tips

China Glaze Crushed Velvet + China Glaze Liquid Crystal
China Glaze Crushed Velvet + China Glaze Liquid Crystal
China Glaze Crushed Velvet + China Glaze Liquid Crystal
I want to declare my love to Crushed Velvet from Diamond Cosmetics. It's my fav dark purple creme, so smooth and dreamy... I love it to pieces! And with China Glaze - Liquid Crystal sponged on the tips I love it even more. This is such a winning combination, I couldn't stop staring at my nails! The third picture shows the blue-purple colour shift in Liquid Crystal, SO gorgeous. (Keep in mind this mani looks way more purple in person.)
colour shifting shimmer, multi-coloured glitter, ooh and aah! ♥

Bright Pink Glitter Nails

Who can resist bright pink glitter nails? I know I can't! ♥ For this mani I started with two coats of Barry M - Pink Flamingo. Then I added one of Catrice's Million Styles Effect Top Coats, Million Dollar Baby, a top coat with small gold hex glitter and medium-sized silver hexes. Silver you say? Then why do I see pink glitter? That's because I also added a layer of the sheer pink jelly of Essence's Colour³ nail polish called Brightsmates. Oh yes, you're looking at a glitter sandwich! ^_^ My camera freaked out a little (actually a lot *sigh*), my nails are obviously pink, but not neon pink in real life (that would've been nice too!). The close-up picture is more colour accurate than the first pic.

Copper'ize Me Caught On The Red Carpet

Today I want to show you a super cool new glitter topper from Essence called Copper'ize Me! Its clear base is filled with small copper coloured glitter and medium-sized multi-coloured glitter. I applied one coat over two coats of Catrice - Caught On The Red Carpet. My camera couldn't pick up the right colour, COTRC looks more blue-toned and deeper in real life. But.. I'm posting this to show you how awesome the glitterzz are! I love how the copper glitter peeks through and how it twinkles with the glossy finish. Copper'ize Me! is a stunner, matte ánd glossy!

Thanks for watching and have a good Easter weekend!

Windmillion Glitter Sandwich

Today I'm showing you glitter sandwich nails (polish-glitter-polish). I started with applying two coats of Thanks a Windmillion from OPI and one coat of Essence - Blair. Blair needs some thinner, all the glitter was clumping together, argh! But still, an awesome glitter polish.. I think I need a backup bottle. ♥ To complete the sandwich I added one coat of China Glaze - Innocence. The result was a bit lumpy after that, so I decided to use a layer of matte top coat. I kinda like how this looks, but I don't think I'll keep it on my nails for more than a day. Let's say it was a nice experiment. ^_^
