Tiffany Triangles

Models Own Blueberry Muffin + Shimmer Polish Tiffany (taped triangles)
A simple and clean mani, just how I like it. The pale blue creme is Models Own - Blueberry Muffin. What a gorgeous colour! It was opaque in two coats and has a subtle blueberry scent. After wearing it for four days it was still looking good so instead of removing it I added a little something. I used tape and Shimmer Polish - Tiffany to create the triangles. Cindy's glitter creations are true stunners, Tiffany is no exception! The perfect mix of blue and pink... ♥

Cirque - Cypress

Cirque Cypress + taped accent nail with Models Own Becca's Brown and round stud
Cirque Cypress + taped accent nail with Models Own Becca's Brown and round stud
Oh, can you believe how pretty this one is? The weather is nice and sunny here in the Netherlands so I'm enjoying the prismatic shades that where waiting to shine in sunlight. Today I'm showing you Cypress from Cirque. The formula of Cypress was on the thin side, but it applied nicely in three coats. My inspiration for the accent nail was Jane's taped circus nail art. The brown coloured base I used is Becca's Brown from Models Own. I also added a little round stud from Born Pretty Store.

This looks glorious in sunlight. ♥

a england - She Walks in Beauty

Models Own Grace Green + a england She Walks in Beauty
Today I'm showing you a england - She Walks in Beauty, one of Adina's new stunning creations. An unusual combination of greenish golden shimmer and pink glitter. I could've applied it over the entire nail, but you know how much I love to play with nail polish! So I started with applying Models Own - Grace Green (two coats); then I dabbed She Walks in Beauty on the nail tips and finished with a layer of top coat. Man, I lóve this combination!

Emerald Black Glistens Up

First of all, almost 500 new followers and around 800 giveaway entries in two days.. wow, I'm flabbergasted. :o A big welcome to my new followers and a big hug for my 'old' followers! :h
For todays mani I used Glisten Up! from Essence. I'm so sad Essence discontinued this one, now I feel like I have to cherish every drop. But not using it while knowing those drops look best on my nails is just stupid, right? I applied one gloopy coat (the formula thickened up quite a bit since I last used it) over Models Own - Emerald Black. I'm intrigued by how Glisten Up! comes to live over a dark colour. That little bottle contains a true treasure. ♥
This is Emerald Black from Models Own's Beetlejuice collection on its own. I love the blue and green shimmer in this one, absolutely breathtaking. The formula was excellent, two smooth coats for full coverage.

Layered Blooboo

I guess you've seen a lot of swatches from Models Own's Beetjejuice Collection the past days, so I decided to show you a different polish from this brand. This is Blooboo. And yes, it's blue, but with a tiny drop of green in it. In the bottle you can see a blurple shimmer; sadly it doesn't translate to the nail. It's still a lovely shade, I can certainly appreciate pastel creme polishes on my nails. ♥ The formula was quite thick, but manageable. I used three coats.
Later I added a layer of one of my favourite Catherine Arley polishes: #674, a light blue prismatic polish. Can I just say I lóve this layering? This icy look is just what I need on this freezing cold day.

Models Own - Purple Ash

Today I have a Models Own polish for you, Purple Ash, which I bought as a part of the 'Autumn/Winter Collection'-set (it's the 3rd one from the right). The lovely Ulmiel asked for a swatch and a comparison with other polishes, well, it's all here, enjoy! :O
Purple Ash is a muted red toned purple creme, but describing it as a dark dusty rose seems fitting too. It looks like Models Own also put a drop of brown in it.. It's a gorgeous, unique colour. I have nothing like it! The application was very good, it was opaque in two coats. I also used a topcoat.

I was searching through my stash for polishes that are close to Purple Ash and these are the ones I found (I told you I had nothing like it, lol). As you can see Purple Ash is more red toned than the other two, but I think they dó look nice next to each other, don't they? :) I totally forgot I had P2 Gracious, it's so pretty with its subtle shimmer (which isn't visible in this picture). I should definitely make a special post on that one! And China Glaze's Channelesque... well, it's Channelesque. :L (I just noticed I misspelled it in the picture, #fail).

Models Own - Purple Grey

I showed you the two on the left (Grace Green and Mushroom) earlier and now it's time for the third in line: Models Own - Purple Grey. Well, that's a fitting name, as this polish is a mix of purple and grey. An odd polish actually, it's playing tricks on me.. (sspooky!). Sometimes it looks more grey, sometimes more purple, but Purple Grey can look a little bit like a dark mauvish taupe too. I love it when a polish has different faces! :D
I had no application issues. The substance is a little thick and very pigmented. This is two coats plus topcoat.

Comparison: Models Own - Mushroom & Zoya - Kelly

I have a little comparison for you today: Models Own - Mushroom vs Kelly from Zoya. Kelly is one of my favourite polishes.. let's see if Mushroom can depose it. :D I removed Mushroom from my middle finger nail and replaced it with Kelly. To be short: Kelly is darker, less muted and a bit more blue-toned. I think I like Mushroom better. Yeah, really! I love the dusty look it has. Applying Kelly is easier though, because it's less thick.

Models Own - Mushroom

Today you're looking at the 2nd polish in line, Models Own - Mushroom. I must say, the colour doesn't scream mushroom to me, but ok. :) Mushroom (the polish) is a grey creme, but not just grey. Depending on the lighting it can look like a taupy grey, a purply grey, a blueish grey... hard to describe really. I love this one, very chique!

The formula... hmm, quite thick, but not too thick to handle. It's very pigmented, this is two coats, but maybe you can get away with one thick coat.

Comparison: Models Own - Grace Green & Essie - Sew Psyched

Yesterday I showed you Models Own - Grace Green. I promised a comparison with Grace Green and Sew Psyched from Essie. As soon as I saw Sew Psyched in the bottle I knew they were going to be to-tally different. And indeed... they are! Grace Green is a shimmerless creme, whereas Sew Psyched contains a subtle silver shimmer. Sew Psyched also has more yellow in it and is darker than Grace Green. So you'll need both.

No, I'm kidding.. ;) But I dó like both, so I'm happy to have them. Sew Psyched applies better by the way, it's less thick, making it easier to spread the polish evenly on the nail. I applied two coats of both polishes, no top coat added.

Models Own - Grace Green

A couple of days ago I received a package with my first Models Own polishes, yay! I bought the 'Autumn/Winter Collection'-set. In this set you can find the following polishes.. from left to right: Grace Green, Mushroom, Purple Grey, Purple Ash, Becca's Brown and Nude Beige. Look how well-behaved they stand in line! :O
First in line: Grace Green. It's a dusty greyish green creme (oh, I just can't describe this colour). Let's just say it's freakin' awesome! The formula is a little on the thick side, but the surface evens out really well after the second coat. The picture shows you the result without top coat. I have to say that Grace Green does remind me strongly of Sew Psyched from Essie, a comparison is coming up!
